Frequently Asked Questions About the Copper Pipe Sizing Tools:
1.) What type of copper pipe do the tools work on?
The sizing tools work on Type L and Type K copper pipe.
2.) What kind of lubricant should I use?
We recommend any food grade oil, such as mineral oil, Pam cooking spray, etc.
3.) Why do I need to lubricate the tool and the pipe?
If you do not lubricate both the pipe and the tool, it will be difficult to get the tool on the pipe and the tool will not want to come off the pipe.
4.) Why can't I get the sizing tool off the pipe?
In order for the tool to come off the pipe properly, you must lubricate both the tool and the pipe before putting the tool on the pipe. Try to tap lightly on the side of the tool with your hammer, twist the tool and it should come off.
5.) How do I maintain my sizing tools?
You may want to keep your tool in a case or a plastic bag, and spray some lubricate on the whole thing to keep rust from forming on the outside. If rust forms on the tool, that will not matter, the tool will still do its job. The tool is tough enough to just keep in with your supplies, thrown in a bucket or whatever.
